The College of Engineering, Construction and Living Sciences is seeking a suitably qualified or experienced person with carpentry trades skills.
This position is a duel role of both lecturer (0.7 FTE) to carpentry students as well as working as a carpentry technician (0.3 FTE) and will involve teaching and assessment of carpentry students on a range of programmes as well as maintenance of our machinery and prep for classes.
The position requires the applicant to have recent and extensive experience as a carpenter and experience supporting and mentoring young people in industry based and off-job training.
This position will involve the support of learning through direct involvement with student project work along with maintenance of existing, and manufacture of new resources.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to the support of training young people and to meeting the diverse cultural and learning needs of the range of students in the College while working with the values and strategic priorities of Otago Polytechnic.
