Lecturer - Medical Imaging Technology

Are you a Medical Imaging Technologist with industry experience and a passion for education?

The UCOL Medical Imaging team are seeking a Lecturer in Imaging Applications to teach on our Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Imaging Technology) degree at the Palmerston North Campus. With your expertise in Medical Imaging you will: 

  • Teach the Imaging Applications course to students in their second year of the degree
  • Facilitate student knowledge and understanding of imaging applications, including an x-ray unit’s generator, control console and accessories, controlling beam direction and quality;

The Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Imaging Technology) is designed to prepare graduates for immediate employment in the Medical Imaging sector. Our graduates are highly regarded by industry both nationally and internationally.

In the position you will actively contribute to the on-going development of medical imaging education within the tertiary environment including the implementation of innovative teaching practices such as the development of the digital learning environment.

Applications are welcome from Medical Imaging Technologists with industry experience.  Ideally you will have a completed postgraduate qualification in Medical Imaging with recent hands on experience, and have a current practicing certificate with the MRTB.  Teaching experience would be an advantage.

This role is a fixed term, part time (12 hours per week) (.3 FTE) position from 12 August until 20 December 2019.
