There are two parts to our business - the regulatory arm (Civil Aviation Authority), which is responsible for the safety oversight of the civil aviation system, and the security arm (Aviation Security Service) who you would have met if you’ve travelled by plane in New Zealand. About the role
This role is critical to our mission at our Aviation Security operations at Auckland Airport and will directly support the Station Manager and Assistant Station Managers and plays a vital role in the Leadership Team, contributing to the operational plan and ensuring the delivery of Avsec’s statutory duties as set out in the Civil Aviation Act.
You will contribute to our operational Business Plan and undertake day to day operational planning and service delivery. You will undertake resource and financial management including budgeting, forecasting and variance reporting as part of your role. You will be responsible for stakeholder management within the airport environment and with other government agencies and the effective management of our frontline operational teams. In addition, you will provide operational support to the Assistant Station Manager where required, including the investigation of any issues raised.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone that has a minimum of 5 years’ proven management experience to utilise their extensive experience in operational planning and risk management; and financial stakeholder management. You will have demonstrated operational leadership experience in your current role and thrive on providing high quality service in a complex operational environment.
It is desirable for you to have a working knowledge or experience of Aviation Security, border operations or a similar operational environment. You will have experience and understanding of the Civil Aviation Authority's regulatory and statutory requirements and the complexities of dealing with stakeholders in close working and public environments. Be computer literate and proficient in the use of Quintiq or similar rostering system, including MS Office suite, (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
The ability to connect and communicate with key stakeholders and influence those at all levels of an organisation is critical to success in this role. You’ll need to be able to obtain and maintain a NZ security clearance, and be either a NZ citizen or NZ permanent resident.
