Our client is a commercial provider of diagnostic services to customers throughout New Zealand and overseas. The GM - Sales & Marketing is a critical role in the ongoing success of this business. Reporting to the CEO and a member of the ELT, the focus of this role is to oversee the strategy and technical delivery of all commercial activity across all market sectors. Leading a team of six direct reports across the market sectors, marketing, client services and administration functions, you will motivate, lead and mentor a high performing team. You will develop, manage and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside the business.
You will develop and execute valuable business strategies that drive achievement within the New Zealand and overseas analytics/diagnostic sectors. You will also be responsible for implementing best practice and careful management of strategic partners and customers; identifying business and sales growth opportunities that deliver sustainable profitability and shareholder value.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification ideally at Masters level or higher in a science or technical field and preferably have a business management qualification in addition to this. You will have developed your career as a senior manager in a commercial organisation and have exceptional leadership ability of both functions and high performing teams.
You will be able to demonstrate a high level of sales, marketing and commercial acumen as well as success in business relationship development (B2B) in a highly competitive environment. Critical to your achievement in this role will be your strategic agility; sound judgement and decision making abilities that stand the test of time; as well as the ability to inspire and drive exceptional performance.
