Port Nelson Ltd (PNL) is the maritime gateway for the Nelson Tasman and Marlborough region – a vital hub the region’s continued economic growth and prosperity. Our QuayConnect division is the warehousing and distribution division of Port Nelson, primarily servicing the New Zealand wine industry.

About the Role

As part of QuayConnect’s next strategic phase, you will develop and maintain a strong and trusting relationship between QuayConnect and one of our largest customers.  You will be the lead for all QuayConnect matters, anticipating our customer’s needs, working within the customers company to ensure deadlines are met. The role is based in Auckland, reporting to PNL’s QuayConnect Operations Manager.

Day to day you will be the point of contact for everything customer related including managing communications, engagement with the client’s customers, and working alongside the client’s sales team, providing input into sales forecasting. You will develop and implement a stock deployment plan ensuring constraints are appropriately measured and identify and manage continuous improvement opportunities within the client’s supply chain. You will also be involved in the strategic planning to improve results, and ensure the budget and plan are effectively managed.

About You

A multi-tasker with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, you will be experienced in sales/ customer management, ideally with 5+ years of proven experience. You will have a strong customer focused track record, with a proven ability to quickly develop strong business relationships. You will have solid commercial and financial acumen and be able to analyse data and sales statistics to identify areas of improvement. Given the nature of the role, an in-depth understanding of 3PL warehousing and distribution, and the wine industry would put you in good stead.
