We are seeking a motivated high achiever to fill a Block Manager role at Waipori Station. The station is a large scale sheep and beef enterprise located on the shores of Lake Mahinerangi in Otago, with 55,000 su on 12,000 ha effective. Our Block Managers have day-to-day responsibility for managing people, stock, pasture and maintenance on one of our four blocks that generally carry between 10000 -15000su.
This role sits under the guidance of a supportive Farm Manager who enjoys empowering and developing his staff. This position will suit someone looking to utilise their stock and pasture management skills while working as part of a progressive team running a large scale, yet intensive, operation. Our ideal candidate will be a motivated and honest stock person with a team of capable dogs. A great attitude, the desire to succeed and the ability to take on responsibility are key attributes for this position.
You will bring
- Proven experience with sheep and beef farming
- A positive attitude and be a willing team player
- Commitment to getting the job done safely and to a high standard
- Effective communication and thorough record keeping skills
- Willingness to embrace new ideas and technology
- Current and full NZ drivers Licence
