We are looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Health and Safety team. The Health and Safety team sit within the wider Culture and Community team which is responsible for leading Napier Port’s development in key strategic areas including its workforce, health and safety, and people - across our port and the wider community.
Reporting to the General Manager Culture and Community, the Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Health and Safety team’s core functions. This includes day to day operational support, administration of key systems and databases, coordination of safety events and functions, and secretarial duties for committees.
Key priorities include:
- Delivery of administrative and coordination support for our core health and safety systems
- Championing of continuous improvements in our systems and processes
- Contributing to industry best practice health and safety
- Championing a safety culture, within our Health and Safety at Work framework.
- Supporting the Chief Executive, managers, the Health and Safety team and staff to implement Just Culture practices
The successful candidate will ideally have 1-2 years’ experience in safety critical environment and will have demonstrated administration proficiency. They will be a quick learner and will be able to multi-task and deliver in a busy environment, with strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will be an excellent relationship builder with strong communication skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
