Ballance Agri-Nutrients Ltd - Mount Maunganui - Bay of Plenty

The appointee will be a commercial and strategic ‘co-pilot’ to the Chief Executive and will have considerable engagement with the company’s high profile Board and a range of other external stakeholders. The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for leading the company’s finance, company secretarial, procurement and business development functions. Additionally they will have accountability for the Ballance’s Super Air aerial topdressing business which delivers services to customers throughout the North Island via a fleet of specialist aircraft and crew.

The successful candidate will have strong credentials in the areas of Chief Executive partnering, profitability maximisation, risk management and commercial management. They will be a capable leader who is skilled at fostering employee engagement and ultimately driving high levels of performance. Key criteria for this Chief Financial Officer appointment:

  • Exposure to working within a large-scale complex business will be crucial - ideally one which manufactures and/or distribute products in a highly competitive marketplace. A well developed understanding of treasury, hedging etc would be valuable given Ballance’s extensive offshore raw materials procurement.
  • First class strategic, analytical and commercial abilities to closely manage the key value drivers for the company, in conjunction with the Chief Executive and executive team members.
  • The interpersonal dexterity and executive influencing skills to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders – customers, staff, board members, industry groups, government, shareholders et al.
  • Relevant tertiary and professional qualifications.
