At Port Nelson we are the maritime gateway for the Nelson Marlborough region, a vital hub for economic activity and a key stakeholder in the region’s continued growth and prosperity. Reporting to the Forestry and General Stevedoring Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of our Stevedore employees. You will ensure that appropriately qualified employees are allocated to each vessel, allowing us to consistently deliver quality stevedoring and logistics services to our customers.  You will also assist with the developing, maintaining and providing of effective administration practices for all labour related records, and provide quality customer focused services.

The role itself will be five days between Monday and Sunday with rostered on call work also required. Shipping and employee availability can change at the last minute, therefore flexibility and adaptability are a must. You will be required to have effective communication skills and a positive and cooperative attitude towards others. This is not for the faint of heart and you will need to be both resilient and up for a challenge.
