Horowhenua District Council - Horowhenua - Manawatu
Do you pride yourself on being passionate about teaching, enjoy being part of a fun and active team, have some available time on your hands and feel comfortable in and out of water? If this is the case, becoming an Aquatics Education Instructor with Aquatics Horowhenua may be the role for you.
This is an opportunity to contribute towards developing a vital life skill that every child should have. Swimming gives children the chance to grow their abilities and confidence. In addition it is great for their coordination, their health and fitness, and most importantly keeping them safe!
At Aquatics Horowhenua, we know how to teach children and adults essential swimming skills so that people in our community can enjoy water safely and confidently. We are looking for an instructor to join our Streamline Swim School, delivering quality Aquatic education, and water safety programmes to our community.
Experience as a lifeguard or experience in, or knowledge of the Aquatics industry is preferred. Qualifications in Aquatics Education instruction and Comprehensive First Aid will be obtained and updated throughout the term of this position. The successful applicant will also be provided with full training to be successful in the role. If you are AUST Swim, or equivalent, qualified and/or have the extraordinary ability to teach new skills to others, we would be very interested to meet with you.
Working hours are flexible and fit with a range of lifestyles; with hours available during school hours, afternoons, evenings, and also during the weekends with some availability during school holidays. We are a 7 day a week business and Swim School hours vary between 8.30am - 7.00pm; therefore hours can be staggered and some weekend shifts will be required.
