The latest news and advice from our recruitment experts.
New Zealand isn’t raw to the concept of innovation – after all, it is the driving force behind our famed No 8 wire mentality – but the country can often fall short of excellence in this area.
Even Israeli technology expert Oren Gershtein, who advised the New Zealand Government on how to set up its tech incubators, last month called us out for our self-criticism saying “You’re so tough on yourselves and there is no reason for that.”
So it’s worthwhile seeing what has driven an innovative, solution-based company like QJumpers to firstly set out to revolutionise recruitment in New Zealand, and, secondly, maintain our commitment to continually develop systems, software and services to keep Kiwi businesses at the forefront of technological advances.
From the outset, the team behind QJumpers were experienced HR and recruitment strategists who understood that current software and technology were failing to fully integrate a company’s entire recruitment process and offering poor functionality.
From our combined experience throughout the industry, we were frequently finding frustrations within existing software surrounding the integration of recruitment with other back office roles; functionality alongside social media, mobile devices and home PCs; the difficulty in generating reports; simple dashboard usability; friendly customer service and help-desks; even basic usability issues such as the time to log in, the annoying retention of cumbersome Excel spreadsheets and those seemingly ever-present system crashes.
The intention of QJumpers right from the start has been to provide a holistic recruitment platform within an industry that has changed wholesale from the days of face-to-face networking events.
Originally that meant providing a cloud-based platform which allowed a company a single method of reaching candidates via common online jobs boards, their own careers websites and social media.
The clear efficiencies born from this initial software swiftly led to the evolution of QJumpers’ expanded role throughout a business’s recruitment strategy and a consistent drive to provide simple improvements such as:
Now QJumpers concentrates on moving the recruitment industry beyond simple applicant tracking systems, many of which focus on simplistic, catchword-friendly solutions rather than embracing the whole process of sourcing, recruiting and – most importantly – onboarding staff in a manner which is likely to lead to them becoming up-and-running faster and fulfilling their potential longer.
That’s why we ensure that when you buy the QJumpers software, you’re not getting an off-the-peg, one-size-fits-all package. Because we have worked throughout the industry and know individual businesses’ frustrations and requirements differ, we ensure that you buy into a team of recruitment and technology professionals who will continually work alongside you to improve and refine your processes.
We’ve also grown to work alongside entire industries to link talent and candidates with suitable roles – most recently alongside Hospitality New Zealand through our Hospo Recruit packages.
The reason why we founded QJumpers was to create a range of solutions to some of the roadblocks that we had experienced ourselves within the recruitment and staffing industries in New Zealand. We wanted to move beyond a simple applicant tracking software system sold off the back of jargon and marketing promises – preferring to off real-time results to real-time challenges in a rapidly changing market.
One of our proudest achievements has been to hear the feedback that we get from customers once our software and systems are in place. As well as hearing from those “on the ground” who use the dashboards to recruit on a week-by-week and month-by-month basis and find that we have streamlined and simplified their ability to find the right candidates for their roles, we are also hearing from business leaders for whom the visibility, accountability and reportability of QJumpers has allowed them to refine and understand their companies to a new degree.
And that’s the very reason we will continually strive to bring innovations to both our products and the way in which we deal with our clients – because we understand that recruitment and staffing isn’t just about filling roles, it’s about branding, retention and how you run a successful business.
