>“Candidates are our customers” so the saying goes. How are you managing this in your organisation?
Regardless of their application outcome, all candidates are potentially your customers. Do you value them? Candidate experience has become an even more important aspect of the recruitment process, given that the same people could potentially be customers buying your company product or service. Can you afford to lose part of this market due to a bad job application experience? The important part for applicants is not only securing employment but also how they are treated during and post the application process. As employers we are able to ask candidates lots of in depth questions through the application questionnaires and find out quite a lot about them. It is also important to let them know you, your company, and your brand.
One of the easiest ways of creating this engagement is using your talent pool functionality. Your talent pool is a rich database of your candidates (and potential customers). They already expressed interest in you (your company). Take time to send an email to the candidates in your talent pool sharing your social media post, let them know about a new charitable event your organisation is supporting or a new project your company is getting involved in. Keep in touch with your hot prospect candidates by inviting them to like your Facebook page, send them a link to articles about your organisation. Keep them interested in you! With the QJumpers talent pool functionality you can search for most suitable candidate in your database using tags and invite them to apply for the next suitable vacancy you have. They will feel that you remember them and look forward to an opportunity to work with them.
Are you nurturing your potential employees? You may have given candidates an option to express interest in joining your organisation; and in doing that you gave them an indication you will get back to them. Registered candidates are often the most valuable talent supply in your database. They researched your company, reviewed your website and declared “I want to work for you!” Most likely, they feel they will fit in your organisation based on their research and are able to specify which of their skills would benefit you organisation (via the registration form questions). Ignoring your registered candidates might potentially sabotage your company sales; you give out a message – I’ll take your information but will not bother considering you. Can you afford to do this?
Please take time to engage with your Talent Pool “community”. The functionality QJumpers give you will make it quick and easy; send bulk emails, review candidates and move them between talent pool areas. Use tag lists to find the most suitable and remember to contact them when you have a suitable opportunity coming up.
A positive candidate experience will enable you to keep positive relationships with both your candidates and consumers and will help you build a positive employment brand which will attract the most suitable candidates; top talent for your vacancies.
