VisionWest Training Centre (formerly Genesis) is a private training establishment set up by Glen Eden Baptist Church as a part of its community ministries programme. VisionWest Training Centre is building a new leadership team and is looking to further strengthen and develop its literacy and numeracy department.

The purpose of the Literacy Tutor/Team Leader is to maintain and deliver our current literacy and numeracy programmes, to lead the literacy and numeracy staff team and to facilitate the development of the department into new areas of growth.

The ideal candidate will be:

• A qualified and experienced literacy tutor with a minimum of NCALE level 5 and TCESOL level 4 or equivalent
• Experienced in leading a small team collaboratively within a literacy and numeracy setting
• Familiar with the delivery of NCEA and other literacy programmes together with marking, moderation and assessment processes with NZQA 4098
• Proactive, flexible, future focussed and outward looking individual with a heart and passion for the transformation of second chance students and their future success.
• Creative, problem solving and able to relate well to students with complex social and learning difficulties.

A Diploma or Degree in Education as well as an ability to develop literacy and numeracy programmes would be an advantage.
