We have recently had an exciting transition to owner/operator of Fraser Underground Mine and are now seeking a Health, Safety and Training Officer.  Reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Coordinator this role is a supportive role in maintaining a high awareness and presence in regards to health, safety and training for Frasers Underground.  This position is a shared role on a back to back roster of 9 days on 5 days off to ensure 7 days a week cover.

Specific duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the day to day underground training, task observation and ensuring consistency in training is maintained across all crews;
  • Managing and maintaining the training matrix and database;
  • Assisting with risk assessments and incident investigations for the underground
  • Being proactive in influencing operational staff to adhere to site safety and training standards;
  • Attending safety meetings and pre start talks;
  • Recording and updating data on electronic safety systems and databases.

The successful applicant will have underground operational experience and a passion for health and safety. Excellent communication skills are crucial to your success in this role as well a high degree of computer literacy.
