Due to the exciting transition to owner/operator of Fraser Underground Mine we are looking for a Health, Safety Training Coordinator.  Reporting to the Underground Mine Manager, the key responsibilities of this position is to manage the Health, Safety and Training Services for the Fraser’s Underground Operation.

Specific duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Audits of compliance to the safety management system
  • Facilitation of risk assessments and coordination of incident investigations for the Underground;
  • Reviewing and implementing changes to the current safety and training systems and procedures;
  • Development, maintenance  and review of Health, Safety and Training procedures relevant to the Fraser’s Underground Operations;
  • Responsibility for the planning and scheduling of all health and safety training modules;
  • Monitoring of performance of services to ensure continuous improvement;
  • Being proactive in influencing operational staff to adhere to site safety and training standards.

The successful applicant will preferably possess qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety and / or Training, previous experience in a health, safety and training position on a mine site or heavy industrial environment. It is essential that the successful applicant has the ability to understand legislations and build relations quickly with all facets of the business.  Excellent communication skills are crucial to your success in this role as is a strong commitment to continuous improvements
