The role of Finance Support has been created to cover a variety of tasks in the finance department including:

• Bank reconciliation
• Month end journals
• Reconciliations and reporting
• Accounts payable
• Backup for other team members
• Payroll

To be successful in this role you will have at least 2 years accounting experience and a  finance related qualification would be advantageous.

Additionally, your experience will clearly identify your:

• High level of accuracy and an eye for detail
• Experience at reconciliations
• Knowledge of databases
• Ability to meet deadlines
• High standards of computer skills including Microsoft
• Excellent communication skills
• Cultural safety and awareness of the Treaty of Waitangi

The successful applicant will have be experienced in all payroll functions including, PAYE, IR filing, Kiwi Saver, Holiday pay, Annual leave, Sick leave, Incentives etc. Fast and accurate keyboard and excel skills are essential. Knowledge of various payroll systems would be beneficial.

As we are a growing company, we need to evolve and develop the payroll function and the supporting systems such as time and attendance, rostering and integration with other systems. Experience in these areas would be beneficial along with the ability to develop efficiency initiatives, manage projects and meet deadlines.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Processing fortnightly payroll for several profit centres
• Calculating and processing incentive payments
• Processing all IRD payments including PAYE, Kiwisaver, and Compliance funds
• Development of the payroll and supporting functions
• Integration of employees from acquired businesses
• General updating and maintenance of the payroll system
• Maintaining the monthly payroll journal and GL integration
• Reporting on Payroll and Staff KPIs
• Providing support to the People Support Coordinator and Finance Manager

The successful applicant will have: 

• At least 5 years experience in a similar role
• A deep knowledge of NZ employment law and payroll best practice
• Excellent communication skills
