Central Region’s Technical Advisory Services (TAS) is the shared services agency for the six Central Region District Health Boards (DHBs) in the lower half of the North Island. TAS offers a range of support to these DHBs and their contracted providers across both primary and secondary care. These services include data analysis, project management, executive support and audit and assurance.

The role is available in a strong and vibrant multicultural team with a wide range of opportunities for training and showcasing your skills and experience - both within the routine audit programme and a diverse range of other audit and assurance based projects.

Lead Auditor

As a lead auditor, you will lead multidisciplinary teams with a strong focus on adding value through process, and procedure analysis of health care service providers in the Central Region. We also expect that you participate in a wide range of audits, in a role that reflects your skills and experience.

The ideal candidate will:

  • have at least 5 years relevant professional experience in internal or external audit
  • a strong financial/accounting background
  • be interested in leading and coaching teams of 2-10 people (staff and/or contract auditors).
  • be team oriented, with effective conflict management skills and an open mind-set
  • plan and execute a variety of audit functions as well as audit and assurance related projects
  • have sound technical internal audit, controls assurance and risk assessment skills with the ability to provide quality advice
  • have excellent communication and report writing skills
  • have relevant tertiary and audit related qualifications.
